–Sonya, Canto II: The Unloving | ||
The Yurodiviye (Russian: Юро́дивые, Juródivyje; Hangul: 유로지비, Yurojibi), are a Syndicate led by Sonya, aiming to redistribute goods from the rich to the needy and widely prevent the concentration of wealth.
Overview[]
The Yurodiviye Syndicate is first introduced in Canto II: The Unloving as a notable piece of Rodion's past and potential enemy of the Sinners.
Yurodiviye was founded by Sonya and Rodion in the Backstreets of District 25 in response to the poor circumstances of those without wealth. Individual members are known as "Yurodivy" (Юро́дивый, Juródivyj), and exhibit magnanimous ideals rarely seen in the harsh, greedy landscape of the City — though they seem to carry these out in questionable ways.
In the present day, they can be found in the Backstreets and Nests of the majority of the City, where they rough up peddlers they deem greedy people keeping money to themselves.
Goals[]
Being the leader of the group, Yurodiviye's goals appear to align with Sonya's. In his words, they aim to destroy the system of oppression and exploitation, preventing the concentration of wealth. In order to attain this, they work to create a new world, as opposed to fixing the current one.
They seek the Golden Boughs for the sake of using its power in order to achieve this new world. However, Sonya ultimately ends up allowing Rodya and the Sinners to obtain the one they sought at Branch J-03, suggesting there may be more to their motives.
Background[]
The Syndicate was formed as a result of dissatisfaction with the way the poor of District 25's Backstreets only ever got poorer while the pawnbrokers only got richer. With charming speeches consisting of big words, Sonya managed to rally all kinds of people under the promise of paving a better world, and together, they organized Yurodiviye. With his group, Sonya aimed for a world where the destitute could escape from the oppression and exploitation of the ruling class and at last find true liberation.
However, according to Rodya, the Syndicate ultimately warped into an organization that cared more for debating about how best to change the streets and the Nest, rather than actually going out and helping those in need. Sonya believed that it was only the future which could be changed, and focused exclusively on what could be improved going forward. Rodya was disgusted by this mindset which abandoned the sufferers of the present and chose to leave the group.

Sinner Identities[]
Relations with Other Factions[]
Hermann's Group[]
Yurodiviye is affiliated with Hermann's Group, a division of Nagel und Hammer and is receiving assistance from them. As of Intervallo I, the exact relationship between the two groups is unclear.
Demian[]
The Yurodiviye and Demian appear to be allies. At the end of Canto III: The Unconfronting, Demian tells Sinclair that "the world is about to head for a new birth. And, only a few individuals can get there", a statement which aligns closely with Yurodiviye's goals of building a new and better world. Sonya and Demian are also shown to be acquainted with one another, well enough that Sonya knows of his relationship with Sinclair.
Limbus Company[]
The second Canto features Yurodiviye acting as antagonists to Limbus Company, aiming to steal the Golden Boughs from them. They are also affiliated with Hermann's group, a group whose members have negative ties to the Sinners and who mercilessly stole the Bough which sprouted from Yuri's head at the end of Canto I. However, given that Sonya ultimately lets Rodya and her fellow LCB members escape with the Golden Bough, they may have aims outside of opposing the Sinners.
