Attack Pattern[]
Slithering Inquisitor is functionally a two phase boss fight. The first phase it uses its arms to attack, while the second phase it uses its body.
For the first 2 turns of battle, Slithering Inquisitor follows the following pattern.:
Turn 1 - Coiling Arms, Swinging Arms, Thrashing Arms
Turn 2 - Thrashing Arms, Coiling Arms, Coil Up, Swinging Arms
Once it has reached all 5 actions, it will use the following rotation while it is above 0 Instincts:
- Coil Up, Coiling Arms, Thrashing Arms, Swinging Arms, Swinging Arms
- Coiling Arms, Swinging Arms, Thrashing Arms, Coiling Arms, Coiling Arms
- Thrashing Arms, Coiling Arms, Coil Up, Swinging Arms, Coiling Arms
When it has 0 Instincts, it will use the following skills until it reaches 4+ instincts:
- Held Breath, Held Breath, Held Breath
When one of the two arms breaks, regardless of the amount of Instincts, it will use the following skills for that turn:
- Swinging Arms, Swinging Arms
Once both arms are broken, it transitions into phase 2, and will use the following skill pattern every turn until the end of battle:
- Pained Writhing, Pained Struggle, Pained Writhing, Pained Struggle, Pained Writhing
Do note that if you speedrun the boss and break both arms on turn 1, it will transition to phase 2 with only 4 of its 5 skill slots, and will not use the 3rd copy of Pained Writhing until turn 3 at the earliest
Parts[]
Slithering Inquisitor is initially made up of 2 parts, its arms, with the body only becoming a target once it transitions into phase 2.
The two arms are functionally identical, with the exception of the right arm being the only one capable of using Coil Up. When an arm breaks, it is destroyed and untargetable for 1 turn. If the other arm breaks during this time, both arms are permanently destroyed and the body is revealed. Otherwise, it regenerates with the same health as the remaining arm.
The body is incapable of staggering or being destroyed. It feasibly will not reach 0 HP before the core, so the rest of the battle it functions identically to the same as all of the other subordinate abnormalities or peccatulum which share their health pool with their sole part.

In Refraction Railway, Slithering Inquisitor uses two less attacks than it normally would. Therefore, its pattern also changes slightly.
For the first 2 turns of battle, Slithering Inquisitor follows the following pattern.:
