Behavior[]
Sign of Roses is a complex encounter that summons a variety of Roses throughout the battle. These Roses correspond to the Crown of Thorns status effect, creating a Rose whose sin affinity corresponds to the Skill 1 sin affinity of the targeted sinner.
Each of the summoned Roses posses the status Blooming Sin that elaborates on the universal mechanics of the flowers. At the end of turn, the corresponding sinner takes 25% of their max HP as damage, the Sign of Roses heals for 5% of its max HP (per Rose), and the player loses 10% of their E.G.O resources for the corresponding sin (per Rose.) After 4 turns, the sinner dies instantly and all of the corresponding sin resource is lost immediately. The Rose will still exist after killing the sinner it was bound to, and will enter a powered-up state.
Attack Pattern[]
Sign of Roses follows a similarly complex attack rotation, based on the amount of Roses that exist.
On the first turn of battle, Sign of Roses will use the follow:
- To the Garden of Infinity, Wishing for Eternity, Here With You
When there are 6 or 7 Roses remaining, Sign of Roses will use the following rotation:
- Wishing for Eternity, Wishing for Eternity, Here With You
When there are 3-5 Roses remaining, Sign of Roses will use the following rotation:
- Captivity, Captivity, Wishing for Eternity, Here With You
When there are 1 or 2 Roses remaining, Sign of Roses will use the following rotation:
- Stop, Stop, Captivity, Captivity
When there are no Roses remaining Sign of Roses will use the following:
- Wall of Separation, Wall of Separation
- To the Garden of Infinity, Wishing for Eternity, Here With You
If the core has less than 40% HP, it uses the following skill rotation for as long as there are Roses on the field.
- Endless Blooming, Endless Blooming, Endless Blooming
- Endless Blooming, Endless Blooming, Captivity, Captivity
Parts[]
Sign of Roses is made up of two parts, the Signpost and the Flesh. Both parts have an attack weight of 3, and behave similarly. When either part is broken, all of their weapon weaknesses become Fatal. However, none of their actions are cancelled for the turn. Instead, either the Core or the summoned Roses will permanently lose Max HP for the remainder of the battle.
Events[]
The Abnormality event appears frequently throughout the encounter.
In the event, the manager is given the choice to either refuse or accept the help of the Abnormality. If the manager refuses, all characters deal and take -10% less damage. If the manager accepts, an all affinities advantage check takes place. Depending on which affinity was used to pass the check, all characters will deal and take +10% damage with that affinity.
All lines said by the Sign of Roses are colored in randomised affinity colors.
"What do you wish for?"
The sign asks the sinners.
"A rose can bloom only when you clearly wish for something."
The heavier your sins, the deeper the color of petals will be."
"See? Wish, wish for it. Knowing that it is a sin. Only then can you bloom such colorful roses."
"You have to bloom the roses. You want to escape this garden don't you?"
"Let us... let me help you."
"Our only wish is that our garden will bloom full of flowers."
"Now, what will you do?"
Refuse. "Foolish." "Everyone has wishes. To deny them is to deny yourself." "I can see how... vivid your seeds are. To not allow them to bloom isn't fair." "Well... That's too bad." "If you have no wishes, then remain here forevermore." "Until you realize that there is no moving on without acceptance." "Be with us. With me." All characters deal -10% damage All characters take - 10% damage |

What color would you like to dye the petals in? "Ah, how pretty." All characters deal +10% damage with [Affinity] Skill. All characters take +10 damage with [Affinity] Skill. "Mm, still too pale." Nothing happened. |
