“ What is this, some kind of suicidal performance? Not the funnest lives to end. ”
Panther (Hangul: 표범, Pyobeom) is a member of a mysterious group along with Lion and Wolf that, among other things, aims to hunt down and kill Dante. The trio appear to have knowledge of Dante's identity and purpose prior to the replacement of their head.
He is an antagonist introduced in Prologue: Selva Oscura.
Appearance[]
Panther is an average height, lean man with tanned skin and dark black hair cut just before his shoulders. Panther has dark grey, almost black eyes and sports black facial hair as well. He wears a single, purple earring on his left ear in the shape of a twisting snake.
Panther's outfit consists of a black hooded sheepskin cloak, held in the middle by a grey belt. The cloak has silver buckled pockets and grey wool trim on the hood, sleeves and in a thin stripe down the middle of the cloak. He wears black and grey buckled boots. The cloak is worn over a black turtleneck.
Panther also wields a silver, double-sided halberd with gold edges on the blades and a purple tassel tied to the spear end of the weapon.
Personality[]
Panther is a rational and observational person, being the one to focus the discussion on what information they could gather. He can also be cruel, as seen by his comment on wanting to see Dante's expression while they died and his remark on The Sinners being so weak that they are no fun to kill. Despite this, he is not overconfident, retreating when told to.
Story[]
Panther, Lion, and Wolf are met just as they corner Dante in a dark forest as a part of a plan made by their master. They decide to kill them once they realize that, thanks to Dante's new head, they will be unable to get any information out of them. While Lion wants to draw it out, both Panther and Wolf agree it would be best to kill them quickly. Just as Wolf is about to kill Dante, they hear a noise and the three realize that a bus heading towards them. The Sinners exit the bus and engage the three in a fight, but Panther and his companions make short work of them and are only stopped when Vergilius dismembers Wolf and Lion and orders Panther to drag them away in a retreat.

Trivia[]
- Though their master is currently unknown, Vergilius referring to them as "the Serpent", as well as the presence of purple snake ornaments on all three group members, it is possible the identity of the master is none other than Iori, the Purple Tear.
