Lion (Hangul: 사자, Saja) is a member of a mysterious group along with Wolf and Panther that, amongst other things, aims to hunt down and kill Dante. The trio appear to have knowledge of Dante's identity and purpose prior to the replacement of their head.

She is an antagonist introduced in Prologue: Selva Oscura.

Appearance

Lion is a tall woman with parted, spiky, blonde hair. She has a large scar on the left side of her chin. Under a long fur-lined coat, notably more ragged than her partner's coats, she wears a black turtleneck with two large purple belts made of snakeskin crossing over one another, golden buckles on each. She wears silver armor on her limbs, her gauntlets having long claws she uses to fight.

Personality

Lion is a confident, strong person who has a tendency to become too emotional on jobs. She is excited to hunt people of a high caliber and wants to enjoy the thrill of killing such rare targets as much as possible.

Story

Lion, Wolf, and Panther are met just as they corner Dante in a dark forest as a part of a plan made by their master. They decide to kill them once they realize that, thanks to Dante's new head, they will be unable to get any information out of them. Lion wants to draw it out, but the other two believe it is best to kill them now. Just as Wolf is about to kill Dante, they hear a noise and the three realize that a bus heading towards them. Lion boasts that whoever is in that bus will pay a price for turning down the wrong road just before Mephistopheles hits her straight on. The Sinners exit the bus and engage the three in a fight, but Lion and her companions make short work of them and are only stopped when Vergilius dismembers Lion, taking an arm, and Wolf, removing her leg, before ordering Panther to drag them away in a retreat.

Trivia

• Though their master is currently unknown, Vergilius referring to them as "the Serpent", as well as the presence of purple snake ornaments on all three group members, it is possible the identity of the master is none other than Iori, the Purple Tear.
