• The original name for this E.G.O was written in German as "Zweig vom Baum der Erkenntnis", or the "Branch from the Tree of Knowledge".
• The overlaid shadow in the room Sinclair resides in is, like his promotional character art, a reference to Demian. It represents the "good" and "bad" sides of life, and Sinclair's need to find a healthy balance between them.
• The tree, snake, and apple are likely a reference to the tale of Adam and Eve (which Sinclair's literary source also incorporates into its story), representing the temptation to do what one knows is wrong.
  • In Demian, apples are relevant in the form of a lie Sinclair tells, which ends up forcing him out of the morally perfect, comfortable life he had been living previously, and under the bully Kromer's dominion.
