"Öufi Assoc. Director" was a former Researcher of the Ring who impersonated a Section Director of the Öufi Association in Canto VI: The Heartbreaking.

Appearance

"Öufi Assoc. Director" wears the standard uniform of Öufi members, with a monochrome color scheme with purple highlights. He has pale skin and a stern expression, as well as dark hair with short visible bangs and a large curly mass behind his back. Atop his head he wears a small beret and veil, with a large purple bow attached. This veil is a noticeable difference from the Öufi uniform, and instead greatly resembles the veil worn by Jumsoon. He wears heeled Mary Janes shoes. He keeps a timepiece in his upper left pocket.

Personality

When impersonating a Director of the Öufi Association, the "Öufi Assoc. Director" follows the general practices of the Öufi Association, being cold and strict while proceeding with the reading of Catherine's will, and stopping disturbances in the will-reading by force with only one warning.

When his actual identity as a former researcher of The Ring is revealed once the Sinners reaches the laboratory in the basement of Wuthering Heights, he shows a more sinister side, trying to eliminate the Sinners by both Peccatula from failed experiments and direct intervention from the Ring researchers themselves.

Story

The Director, along with two other members of the Öufi Association, are hired to oversee the reading of Catherine's will amidst those that were invited to Wuthering Heights. Despite a variety of setbacks caused by the bickering of Heathcliff, Hindley and Linton and their respective factions, the Director is able to read the will following the subjugation of Heathcliff through the combined efforts of both the Öufi Association's violence and Nelly.

Once the first lightning strikes and the members of Wuthering Heights are scattered throughout the building, the Öufi Association members make their way to the basement of the manor. When the Sinners arrive and begin to discover the machines set up by the Ring, Aseah reveals himself to them alongside the "Director". Sending both Peccatula as well as former members of the Finger after the Sinners, the Director would eventually join the battle. Once defeated, he is momentarily questioned, revealing that the faction within the basement are only former members of the Ring, though he would be cut short as Heathcliff smashes the man's head off, killing him.

Trivia

• Most Fixer Associations wear different uniforms that depends on which Section you are in. The Öufi Director's outfit is identical to that of Öufi Assoc. South Section 3 Heathcliff, suggesting that he was impersonating the director of Section 3.
• He appeared in the background art of the P Corp train station, possibly foreshadowing his further involvement in future Cantos.
• As both an enemy and in his own dialogue, the "Öufi Assoc. Director" is referred to as previously belonging to the "Pointillist" faction of the Ring. Pointillism is a style of art where objects are depicted using only dots.
  • This may mean that the "Öufi Assoc. Director" formerly belonged to Jumsoon's faction in the Ring, both as he is known to have an obsession with dots, and due to his connection with Aseah and the study of Mirror-related technology.
